Unit Manager for Special Housing Section
Do you want to be part of leading the important work of creating safety and comfort within elderly care in Falu municipality? Then the position of unit manager for the Special Housing section may be perfect for you!
Currently, about twenty unit managers work in the section. The unit managers are part of the section's management team and have regular networking meetings every two weeks, which creates a good platform for coaching, support, and assistance to each other. In most units within the section, around 25-35 employees work to create a safe and pleasant environment for our users. Together with these competent employees, you will lead and develop a very significant operation!
The work of the Care Administration is based on a common value base where safety is a central concept in working with the customer. Every meeting with the individual should be characterized by good treatment, continuity, and influence.
Job Responsibilities
As a unit manager, your primary task is to lead, plan, and develop the operations. This is done based on approved assistance decisions according to SoL and within given economic frameworks where the goal is for the user to receive good care of high quality.
The position of unit manager means that you are responsible for personnel, budget, and operations. You coach and follow up on your employees' efforts and actively work to ensure that our users are received by caring staff who value making others feel good. In this role, you will collaborate internally within the municipality with, for example, the service administration, the health and medical care section, LSS, and externally with Region Dalarna, volunteer organizations, etc.
For us, it is important that you feel taken care of from the start. Therefore, we have a mentorship program for newly hired managers, and there are good opportunities to develop as a leader through leadership development programs and internal training in areas such as work environment, rehabilitation, recruitment, etc. Central support functions are also available for areas such as finance, HR, and law.
Qualifications
The following is required for the role:
- University degree from the personnel and working life program, social work program, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
- Work experience in care and support work
- Several years of work experience as a unit manager in care and support, where personnel, budget, and operational responsibility have been part of the role
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
- Good computer skills and IT maturity
- Driving license B

Desirable Qualifications
- Experience as a first-line manager in public operations
- Experience in elderly care
- Experience working in public operations
- Good ability to express yourself in English, both verbally and in writing
Employment Conditions
Permanent full-time employment with immediate start according to agreement.
